Ask me about…
Melissa Kuchenmeister (CPA) has 15+ years of experience within the construction industry. As a public accountant, she has a skill set perfect for small to mid-sized privately-held companies and their owners.
Her background includes working as CFO for both large and small contractors, including general contractors and subcontractors. She understands the day-to-day needs of the business, such as mitigating accounting risk, using industry-standard software, payroll processing, and 401(k) administration compliance. So whether she’s working with a large mature company or a start-up – chances are she has come across and solved similar business challenges.
“I’ve been in my clients’ shoes as CFO and understand first-hand what the management team needs for effective accounting and financial management so they can focus on running their business,” says Melissa. “Now that I’m back in public accounting, I enjoy applying what I’ve learned on the inside. My goal is to make sure each client’s unique needs are met and issues are identified on a timely basis. It goes beyond the numbers as well – you need to collaborate to protect both your business relationships as well as your financial assets.”
Melissa also has experience working effectively with outside professionals, such as bankers, bonding companies and insurance brokers. This goes a long way when you consider that your management team, CPA and outside financial interests need to all communicate efficiently in to keep big projects on schedule.
Outside of the Office
As a “proud hockey mom” with three children, Melissa enjoys running and traveling – when she’s not at the ice arena.
