Larry Gamst, principal at Minneapolis accounting firm DS+B, was recently featured in the Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal as part of a newly-formed advisory board for Grand Forks, N.D.-based Alerus Financial Corp.
Larry joins a distinguished list of metro business leaders to bring local perspectives and business connections to help the financial services group build its Twin Cities presence. Larry joins Dick Enrico, founder and CEO of 2nd Wind Fitness; Lisa Meyer, University of Minnesota VP of marketing and communications; Dennis Monroe, co-founder and chairman of Monroe Moxness Berg; Julie Gilbert Newrai, founder of PreciouStatus; James Nichols, CEO and president of James L Nichols CPA; Mike Opat, Hennepin County commissioner; and David Waldo, retired Twin Cities Market Manager for Alerus.
According to the MSPBJ article, Alerus Minnesota Market President Chip Norris said the advisory board made one introduction that “led to a business opportunity with a manufacturing company to provide a working capital revolving credit facility.”
“Another advisor introduced us to several of his clients, two of which were in expansion mode and needed financing in order to expand their profitable businesses,” he said in a prepared statement. “These are all significant opportunities that we would not have been aware of without the help of our advisory board.”
