Mark Franklin
Principal
Mark Franklin (CPA, CFP and CHBC) consults with independent medical
practices on a variety of issues relating to financial operations,
compensation planning, corporate and individual taxation, and practice
growth and succession.
He has expertise in practice valuation, facility planning, physician
buy-in and buy-outs, and physician-hospital negotiations. Mark's
understanding of complex healthcare financial issues gives DS&B
clients added confidence in today's complex environment.
Mark joined DS&B in 1998 after working six years with one of
the most prominent healthcare systems in the Midwest. There he fine-tuned
his practice valuation and acquisition, joint venture negotiation,
facility planning and new service line analysis experience. Mark
also has seven years of previous public accounting experience in
tax and small business that allows him to consult on a variety of
related issues.
He has a B.S. in accounting from the University of Missouri, Columbia.
Mark is a Certified Public Accountant, Certified Financial Planner
and Certified Healthcare Business Consultant. In addition, he is
an active member of The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants,
the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Medical
Group Management Association.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys playing on a men's hockey team and
coaching little league baseball and youth football. He resides in
Golden Valley, MN. with his wife Barbara Swaiman and their sons
Sawyer and Ryan.
