Larry Gamst
Managing Principal
As the managing principal of DS&B, Larry Gamst (CPA) applies
his vast financial, business ownership and management experience
to setting and achieving the firm's strategic direction. In addition,
he utilizes his business advisory, direct ownership and financial
expertise to proactively help clients with strategic planning, operations,
succession and financing issues.
As a business leader, Larry was instrumental in developing DS&B's
healthcare specialty. Because of this work, the firm is now recognized
as one of the state's leading healthcare consulting teams with expertise
in all aspects of practice management, including provider compensation
and benefit issues, buy-ins and buy-outs, and personal financial
and estate planning.
Larry is an exceptional business advisor honing his skills by acquiring
(with three partners) a small portfolio of small operating companies.
Numerous clients of DS&B - especially closely held businesses
- rely on Larry's direct experience and expertise. His expert negotiating
skills, marketplace instincts and immense network of contacts all
help further his clients’ objectives.
Larry joined DS&B in 1976 after graduating from the University
of Minnesota and completing the CPA exam. He is a Certified Public
Accountant and is an active member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and Minnesota Society of Certified
Public Accountants.
In his spare time, Larry enjoys playing jazz guitar and golf. He
actually began his working career as a jazz guitarist. And, Larry’s
reputation as an affable, warm and caring individual does not change
on the golf course even as he maintains an impressive three handicap.
