Jack G. Vander Waal
Principal
Jack G. Vander Waal (CPA) is DS&B's leading authority on retirement
plans, employee benefits and IRAs. He heads the DS&B Employee
Benefits and the Estate & Trust teams.
Jack concentrates on providing clients with solutions that fit their
specific situations or goals. He is proactive in helping clients
plan, as well as readily accessible to clients for any questions.
Other advisors recognize Jack as a valuable resource for technical
expertise and seek out his advice on employee benefits issues.
Jack's expertise combines financial, retirement and estate planning
to help clients grow and preserve their wealth. His extensive experience
with retirement plans - particularly with distribution and beneficiary
designation planning - enables him to help clients make informed
decisions concerning their retirement goals.
In 1986, Jack joined DS&B after relocating to Minnesota with
his family from Iowa. He is a member of the American Institute of
Certified Public Accountants and the Minnesota Society of Certified
Public Accountants. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in
accounting from Drake University.
In his spare time, Jack enjoys charitable projects and spending
time with family and friends. He also enjoys rock and roll concerts,
Vikings football games and going to the zoo. He married his high
school sweetheart in 1972 and they reside in Burnsville, MN. The
Vander Waals enjoy vacationing in the Caribbean and providing movie
and restaurant reviews to anyone that asks.
